Ozone (O3 ), composed of three oxygen atoms, is a highly reactive form of oxygen that damages living cells that come in contact with it in adequate amounts. Ozone is a powerful disinfectant which is commonly used to eliminate microorganisms in water treatment, food manufacturing and many other applications. In fact, it has been used to purify water for well over 100 years. Ozone is formed and decays naturally in the upper atmosphere due to the UV light from the sun — and it exists in small amounts in the indoor and outdoor air we breathe every day. Ozone can also be generated artificially using UV lights, which is what occurs deep inside the CerroZone device. While ozone is well proven to kill harmful pathogens, no one has been able to harness the incredible disinfecting power of ozone to eradicate airborne threats — in an efficient, continuous and SAFE manner — until now. How CerroZone works
CerroZone’s revolutionary, proprietary, patent-pending technology pulls air into the unit and subjects it to a series of ultraviolet light
sources, which convert the oxygen (O2) in the air into ozone (O3). The newly created ozone destroys any microorganisms in the air and is then forced through a proprietary catalyst that converts the ozone back into oxygen, which is then reintroduced into the room as clean, fresh air All CerroZone mobile devices are backed by our 5-year limited warranty against manufacturer’s
defects.
1. Air Intake – The device pulls in air from the front.
2. UVC Lamps – Ultraviolet light converts the oxygen in the air into ozone.
3. Mix Chamber – The ozone destroys all microorganisms in the air.
4. Ozone Catalyst – A proprietary catalyst converts the ozone back into oxygen.
5. Air Outlet – Fresh, purified air is returned to the room, with less ozone than in the incoming air.
It’s important to note that virtually no ozone escapes the unit. In fact, independent testing proves that ozone levels leaving the unit are lower than levels in the ambient room air.
The system is designed to run continuously, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing constant protection for anyone in the room. Our mobile unit, the first of many in development, delivers 220 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of purified air. Maintenance just once per year
The CerroZone mobile device is designed for fast implementation and minimal ongoing maintenance. Upon receipt, there is no installation or service required. Simply unbox the unit and plug it into a standard electrical outlet. IoT set up can be done by scanning a QR code.
Service/maintenance is only required every 12 months, minimizing down time, based on running the device 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All service items are available directly from CerroZone or our authorized agents. Only CerroZone authorized service agents can service the equipment to maintain the product warranty. All CerroZone mobile devices are backed by our 5-year limited warranty against manufacturer’s defects.
At CerroZone, we welcome the discussion about the safety of ozone. We understand the concerns some people and organizations have about ozone, due unfortunately to previous products that did not put safety first and foremost, as we did when engineering CerroZone. There is no question that ozone can be hazardous to humans. But it’s important to understand that CerroZone is completely different than any other ozone-related product on the market, past or present. With CerroZone, no significant amount of ozone ever leaves the unit. All ozone is generated inside a hermetically sealed chamber, then converted back into oxygen before exiting the unit. Extensive Testing
• CerroZone mobile devices conform to the Intertek “Zero Ozone” standard, as well as the CARB (California Air Resources Board) standard.
• CerroZone mobile devices meet EPA, OSHA and other ozone emittance standards.
• In independent testing, the ozone level in the air exiting the CerroZone unit was less than the natural ozone level in the ambient air in the room.
• CerroZone units have been cycle fatigued for many months during internal and field trials.
• The CerroZone mobile unit is certified by the FDA as a 510(k) Class II medical device.
Safety Sensors
• Every CerroZone unit contains a primary external ozone sensor in the exhaust stream that will shut down the unit if an excess amount of ozone is detected.
• Every CerroZone unit contains a secondary external ozone sensor in the exhaust stream — on a separate electrical circuit — that will shut down the unit if an excess amount of ozone is detected.
• Every CerroZone unit contains an internal ozone sensor that will shut down the unit if the ozone being generated is out of range – either too low or too high.
